THREE different interior plans are I offered for the Bedford Utilecon high-top ambulance introduced by Martin Walter, Ltd., Sandgate Road, Folkestone. The vehicle is based on the Utilabus passenger-carrying Version of the Bedford light van.
nach layout, has individual seats in the front for the driver and attendant, whilst two have a permanent "stretcher fitting at the off side in the rear. One of thesehas a bench seat for five sitting cases on the near side, and the other three individual seats facing forward.
The third plan has a bench seat for five sitting cases on each side of the body. The near-side seat folds up, so.• that a stretcher-case patient can be carried in. emergencies.
An interior height of 5 ft, is allowed by the translucent plastics roof. There is a drop step for ease of entry by sitting cases, whilst the Models With a stretcher fitting have a low-loading platform.
Price quoted for the ambulance is £750 ex works.
