• The Northern Area Traffic Commissioners, after travelling over the route by bus, last week decided to restore the United Automobile Services new service which passes through a private housing estate.
United extended its Cowpen Estate service last June to run through the estate. So many residents protested that, after six weeks, a special dispensation was granted by the Commissioners to suspend the service. Following the suspension more than 300 people signed a petition asking for the service to be restored and, at the recent public inquiry friction from both. sides caused Mr. J. A. T. Hanlon, chairman, to call order.
