VARIATION of the Kymax road-speed governor for use on petrolngined vehicles has been developed by Kysor, of radiator shutter me.
To be known as Kypet, the deice will use the same electronic ystem as the Kymax but, in the bsence of a source of air, the ypet will use the manifold acuum.
It can be pre-set to the desired maximum speed and, according to Kysor, will be ideal for light vans.
When activated, the Kypet will return the throttle to the idle position and will restore free throttle at 2mph below the gov

erned maximum speed.
Like the Kymax, the version for petrol engines incorporates the same protection system which will cause the device to operate in all gears if tampered with.
The Kypet will probably be available later this year at an estimated price of around £120.
