Coming in
IN THE first nine months of this year, Britain imported 7,750 motor vehicles for the transport of goods or materials, to the value of 041 million.
Michael Meacher, Under Secretary for Trade, who stated this in the Commons, added that imports of cars, including some light commercial vehicles, had been 143,000, with a value of £253 million.
He had no reason as yet to believe that the Japanese Government's statement about shipments of heavy commercial vehicles to the United Kingdom in 1978 would not be fulfilled, noted Mr Meacher.
