Powered by a series-wound traction • motor with a five-step foot controller, the appliance has a four-speed gearbox and electrical reverse. The power unit and steering assembly can be turned through 90° in each direction, and the truck can turn in its own length.
The hydraulic pump for lifting and tilting is driven by a separate motor, which is. automatically controlled by 'manual operation of the hydraulic valves, so that no current is consumed when in neutral or during lowering. Incorporated in the mast assembly, a 6-in, free lift allows the truck to pick up and carry a load on the forks, clear of the ground, without increasing the overall height above the normal closed height of 76 in. This gives greater freedom of movement in buildings and through doorways with low headroom.
All-wheel braking is employed and a towing attachment can be provided. The overall length of the truck is 83 in. and its width 36 in.
