U.S. Army Mobility Command, Van Doorne's Automobielfabriek, maker of DAF vehicles, is to design and build a prototype vehicle fitted with the Variomatic rubber-belt transmission used on the company's small passenger cars. The army prototype will, however, have fourwheel drive.

The prizes will be presented by Sir William Black, managing director of A.C.V. (Sales) Ltd. A.C.V. chairman, Lord Brabazon, will be the principal guest and Sir Henry Spurrier. Leyland chairman, will be chairman of the presentation meeting.
Another Honour THE first Leyland Motors trade apprentice to be awarded a technical state scholarship, Mr. H. B. Sutton, has now been awarded a diploma in technology (mechanical engineering).
