• A fleet of mobile workshops has been imported by UMO Plant Ltd of Letchworth Herts, to service its fleet of contract hire earth-moving equipment and the new range of Soviet-built Belaz dump trucks and motor graders which the company will offer on the UK sales market in 1971.
The mobile workshops mounted on Tochaty chassis are fully equipped with a high-pressure washing pump, a 14-ton elec.tric winch, an electric tool grinder, a 230V electric generator, a 10-ton hydraulic press, vice, injector tester. a 300amp welding set with accessories and a complete set of fitters tools.
These will be backed by a fleet of service vehicles and £500,000 worth of spare parts which have already been delivered to the UMO Plant's main UK depot at Letchworth.
