OPERATORS are warned that when applying for spare parts on the appropriate Certificate of Need, only one form may be completed. In several cases it has been found that people have filled in a number of forms, although each has to be certified to the effect that only the one form has been completed.0 As a result, prosecutions are in contemplation.

Smith, M.Inst.T„ of the first batch of letters of invitation to contribute to the "Henry Spurner" Memorial, the fund reached the halfway mark towards the £10,000 minimum which is its primary aim. Gifts up to May 9 include £250 each from many important manufacturing and operating concerns. Most of the gifts were addressed direct to Mr. Shrapnell-Smith at Hound House, Shere, near Guild ford. He has also received a large number of intimation; from companies of their intention at their next meetings of directors to recommend contributions.
LIST OF BALLAST AND SAND SUPPLIERS
ANEW list of members, dated May, 1942, has been published by the Ballast. Sand and Allied Trades Association. It contains 569 references and forms an index to such suppliers in all parts of the country, whilst its arrangement in counties enables immediate reference to be made to suppliers in any district.
Copies are obtainable, free of charge, from the Association, 2, Wellesley Road, Twickenham, Middlesex. A.R.O. DISCUSSES THE INDUSTRY'S PROBLEMS
AT a recent meeting of the A.R.O. National Council reports were received and discussion took place upon a number of important points. These included the latest proposals of the S.J.C. for organization in the industry; plans for a united association drawn up by the joint A.R.0.C.M.U.A. executive committee in the West Midland Area: the use of Service vehicles carrying goods and passengers to the detriment of established operators.
It has been decided not to hold the annual luncheon.
