ARECEPTION and luncheon on Wednesday marked the official opening of an additional 36,000 sq. ft, of warehouse accommodation at the Rownhams, Southampton, depot of Victory Transport Ltd. Two new warehouses, each of 18,000 sq. ft. capacity and having a combined covered loading and unloading area of 9,000 sq.ft., are equipped with the latest in storage and handling aids.
The company has concentrated all its warehousing activities at Rownhams, where there is some 24 acres of storage accommodation, including 40,000 sq. ft. insulated to facilitate temperature control. Since 1956, five warehouseshave been built by Victory. The company operates a fleet of 67 A-, Contract Aand B-licensed vehicles, of which 36 are employed daily on distribution work in the Southampton area.
