AST week, Mr. Selwyn Lloyd, the A Leader of the Commons, agreed to ieet Mr. Edward Short (Labour, Newistle Central) to discuss the Bill enabling ical authorities to grant concessionary tres. Mr. Short had complained that for IC third week running a group of Tories id prevented his Bill from having its acond Reading, and he asked whether te Government would allow a little time tr• a debate.
As it was obvious that Mr. Lloyd did at understand the Bill, could they meet id discuss it some time in the near rture, asked Mr. Short. He was ;rtainly prepared to meet Mr. Short and -ty other Member who wished to talk to m about the Bill, replied Mr. Lloyd, ut there could not be a debate soon.
Mr. Harold Wilson suggested that overnment time should be provided to ring up to date the Bill which was issed in 1955. That was why he should st talk to Mr. Short, answered the eader of the House.
