A spokesman for the firm said: "We wanted to give the idea a fair trial, hut, apart from our own vehicles, only two other lorry drivers have used the park— and they were directed there by the police.
The charge was 10s. a night, which seemed little enough to protect loads worth thousands of pounds.
"The service, which included security patrols and guard dogs, was extensively advertised to attract the attention of London haulage firms who send vehicles to Birmingham every week; but they have shown little interest,"
