THE Road Haulage Association's Express Carriers Group has welcomed an assurance from the Post Office that they will continue to use place names in addresses.
Group members had expressed concern that many people were relying on post codes only for the address. Now they have emphasised the importance of using the full address to prevent parcels being lost. A WARNING has been issued that the Inland Revenue could be creating a false impression over the tax advantages of leasing vehicles. It has come from the British Vehicle Renting and Leasing Association.
The Association warning follows reports that there have been changes in the law to make it more advantageous to lease than to buy.
"Since these reports we have been inundated with calls querying the suggestion that a new ruling would allow companies to claim larger tax rebates," said a BVRLA spokesman.
The Association says that their members have been genuinely claiming the 100 per cent first year allowance for companies leasing since the Finance Act of 1971 and was tested last year in a case submitted to the Special Commissioners.
