CHANGES made to the range of selfretracting nylon coiled hose marketed by Hubert H.P. Trist and Co. Ltd., manufacturers of Top-Dog friction materials, have resulted in improved performance and a reduction in the price of some items.
The first change affects Skyhooks-TopDog air brake supply lines for articulated vehicles, and takes the form of a coiled spring reinforcement in both ends of the hose. This reinforcement is designed to eliminate the hose kinking and to enable the bore size to be increased by .010in. It also makes possible a 40 per cent reduction in the overall length of the hose, claims the makers. The combination of larger bore size and shorter length is said to give greater flow and faster response to pedal pressure.
The second design change concerns lectricoils, a self-retracting hose which carries electric wires. This has been coiled in a similar manner to the air hose, and is suitable for use on articulated vehicles as electricity supply lines.
