by Lincoln Commercials at the recent Lincoln Show had bodies constructed almost entirely with one-piece plywood panels. The material used was Thames-Chassisply made by Thames Plywood Manufacturers Ltd., Barking.
Two of the exhibits were Dodge D.308 four-wheelers with tipping bodies employing Edbro W4 under-floor tipping gear. On one, the body length was 17 ft. 6 in., on the other 18 ft. 6 in. The height of the sides was 4 ft. 6 in. and 4 ft. respectively, whilst the body width was
7 ft. 6 in. in both cases. For the floors of both bodies 18-mm.-thick Chassisply (in single pieces) was used, the sides, head and tailboards being in material 15 mm. thick.
The third exhibit was a York singleaxle platform semi-trailer, 25 ft. tong by
8 ft. wide, with a one-piece ply floor 25 mm. thick and a 4-ft.-high headboard of 15-mm. ply.
