THE LONG-ESTABLISHED name of Sparshatts is to disappear from the commercial vehicle world. Two years ago Wadham Stringer acquired the Leyland distributor and coachbuilding company of J. H. Sparshatt and Sons Ltd of Portsmouth, and the group has now decided to give the Wadham Stringer brand name to its commercial bodywork products. Thus the name-plate of Sparshatts will disappear after 50 years of use. In future, bodywork by the Wadham Stringer group will carry the name Victory.
