• Worcester-based Atchison Topeka has deployed its first powder tanker on a dedicated delivery contract with Birdseye Walls.
Pulled by a Scania R1241A 4)(2 unit (it is shown here with another tractor), the 45m3 triaxled Spitzer Silo tanker is said to achieve 25-tonne payloads. The powdered milk is discharged using the Deutz three-cylinder diesel engine and GHH Rand compressor located at the front in an acoustic cabinet. Noise is said to be below 80c1BiA) at 1.0m when discharging.
The new outfit, which is designed with 40 tonnes GCW in mind, is the 25th in Atchison's fleet and its first in a 2+3 configuration.
