• Carlisle-based Eddie Stobart has lost a lucrative contract hauling plasterboard products around the country for British Gypsum.
In a terse statement by a spokesman, British Gypsum (BG) says it has terminated its contract with Eddie Stobart for "business reasons".
It says it no longer wishes to be involved with the Cumbrian haulier.
Although British Gypsum
will not give any reasons for terminating the 12 month contract, it does say it is planning to engage another haulier in Stobart's place and is involved in talks with a number of firms.
