From our Industrial Correspondent ONDON TRANSPORT EXECUTIVE I-1 are faced with another heavy claim from its busmen. They are to press for the introduction of an 11-day, 80-hour fortnight to replace the present fortnight of 88 hours.
Approval of the claim was given last week when the executive council of the Transport and General Workers' Union met in London.
Mr. Frank Cousins, the union's general secretary, said that the union would demand the shorter hours without loss of pay.
If successful, similar claims are likely to he put in on behalf of 170,000 provincial busmen.
