ANEW ferry service between Granton and Burntisland, across the Firth of Forth, was to start yesterday. 1r is operated by Forth Ferries, Ltd., the address of which is Middle Pier, Granton, Edinburgh. Four radar-equipped vessels run halfhourly on weekdays all the year round and on Sundays from April to October. and hourly'on Sundays from November to March. The crossing takes 40 minutes. Rates are as follows:—Coaches tip to 20 seats, 15s. single, 22s. monthly return; 21-35 seats, 23s.. 34s.; over 35 seats, 25s., 37s. 6d. (these charges include driver and passengers); ambulances. 4s. 6d.. 7s. 6d.; goods vehicles less than 1 ton unladen weight, unladen 35. 6d., laden 6s.; 1-3 tons, 7s., I2s. 6d.;
tons. 12s. 6d., 20s.; over 5 tons,
four-wheelers, unladen, I5s., laden, 23s., six-wheelers, 17s. 6d., 26s., eightwheelers, unladen, 20s. Single fares only are quoted fur goods vehicles. The maximum permis sible weight is 14 tons. The charges include driver, but second men must pay passenger fares of Is. single and Is. 9d. return.
