After reading the informative feature last week on satellite tracking (CM9-15 March), I felt I had to respond to your summary which stated "as far as we know, all current systems can only get up-to-date information if the ignition is switched on" and "what you really want to know is where they are right now".
In fact our V-SOL 2000 system is totally unaffected by engine status. This system allows a user to tell where their vehicle is at that moment, as well as letting you follow them (live) on the map (throughout Europe)—and it will only cost 2p per track.
I do not wish to turn this letter into an advertising opportunity for Vehicle Solutions, ljust offer my thoughts in the true spirit of equal opportunity, as long as I get the last word! (Unless of course you choose to respond). Paul Baston, Marketing director, Vehicle Solutions, Leyland, Preston.
