• The director of Global Transportation, which ewes thousands of pounds to disgruntled hauliers, faces further legal action from a fireplace installer who is owed 21,000.
Arthur Wass, of Wass Fireplaces, Cardiff, contacted CM this week after seeing the report on Global Transportation in last week's issue. In the past six months county court judgments for £50,000 have been awarded against Global.
Wass is owed £1.000 for installing a fireplace at Global director Michael Mitchell's new house in Marine Parade, Barry, in October 1998. The deposit of £400 was paid with a Global credit card. Wass had already installed one fireplace in another house (pictured), which Mitchell is understood to rent out.
Wass won a county court judgment and sent bailiffs to the address, but without result.
Mitchell claims the creditoi will eventually receive 70% their money. He has promise to provide CM with an accoui of what went wrong with Glob but as we went to press this WE Still outstanding.
