Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RANGE of tipping gear specifially for British use has been deeloped by Multilift Ltd, a memer of Partek, one of the largest Idustrial groups in Finland.

The Crown range, developed fter consultations with perators and bodybuilders, ses single-front end displacelent-type rams and covers aplications on all threeand fourxle rigid chassis and semi^ailers currently used in Britain. Coupled with a patented :ontrol system said to give fine ontrol in tipping and lowering, le reduced overall weight of the ear is claimed to increase perational speeds.

Eight basic ram assemblies in dude four-, fiveor six-stage designs with maximum working pressure of 170 bars (2,500psi) ,and cater for body lengths of 5.4m and 6.0m (18ft and 201t) on 24-ton six-wheelers; 6.9m and 7.3m (22ft 6in and 24ft) on 30-ton eight-wheelers; and 7.9m, 8.5m, 9.1m and Urn (26ft, 28ft, 30ft and 36ft) semi-trailers in 32-ton articulated outfits.

An important feature of the Crown gear design is an hydraulic "soft stop" circuit preventing shock of impact loads being transmitted through all the mechanical components when the ram reaches full extension.

A spring-loaded-valve assembly located at the base of the final stage tube provides two mechanical stops. When the first is reached, the flow of oil from within the device is restricted to provide a damping effect until the final stop is reached.

Crown tipping gears claim to be lighter than other designs because of the use of a separate hydraulic oil tank which is fitted directly to the special ram cradle carrying the main support trunnions.
