PAYLOAD capacity is increased in a new type of bagwash laundry body built by Thomas Harrington, Ltd., Hove, on a Bedford 5-ton chassis. The body is constructed entirely in light alloy and weighs only 16 cwt.
A vehicle of this type was recently built foi the New Model group of laundries as a prototype Top-hat section pillars are gusseted to the channel-section Cross-bearers, and the longitudinal panel rails are of Z-section strips. The panelling is in 18-gauge light-alloy sheet and the flooring is of light-alloy chequer plate. The capacity of the body is about 600 cubic ft.
Easy access to the cab is afforded by sliding doors on each side, whilst there is another sliding door behind the mate's seat for passage through to the body. At the rear is a light-alloy roller shutter.
