MR. ALFRED J. PHit.uPs has been appointed a director of Carmo (Holdings), Ltd.
DR. MAURICE COOK has been elected chairman of the British Non-Ferrous Metals Research Association.
MR. P. G. ASCOUGH has been appointed a sales executive for Guy Motors, Ltd., to cover South London, Surrey and part of Middlesex.
MR. DESMOND G. FLNLEY has been appointed secretary of Cumberland Motor Services, Ltd. He was formerly assistant secretary of Red and White Services, Ltd.
MR. R. A. TuovipsoN has become transport manager of Burton-on-Trent Co-operative Society. He previously occupied a similar position with the Dysart Co-operative Society.
MR. C. E. JORDAN has been presented with a cheque to mark his completion of 10 years' chairmanship of the West Midland Divisional Committee of the Traders' Road Transport Association.
MR. A. E. KITCHEN, deputy general manager of Leicester Transport Department, is to retire next March. He joined the undertaking in 1907. He also held the position of chief accountant, which will be taken up by MR. P. C. FLETCHER.
MR. G. W. HAYTER, who is retiring after 32 years with the Northern General Transport Co., Ltd., for 18 of which he was general manager, has received a presentation. A gift has also been made to Ma. G. BATTERSBY, traffic manager, who is leaving after 33 years' service to join another concern.
MR. Ci. E. G. HOPE-JOHNSTONE, sales director of the Regent Oil Co., Ltd., is to resign from the board of the company shortly to become vice-president of Trinidad Leaseholds (Canada), Ltd. The appointment of sales director will be taken by MR. J. A. J. NICHOLAS, at present general sales manager of Regent. The functions of general sales manager will be carried out by MR. 0. H. FISH, as dealer sales manager, and MR. G. W. LIMMER, as commercial sales manager. Mr. Fish is at present assistant general sales manager and Mr. Limn-ter London branch manager, a post to be occupied by MR. H. I. TANNER. Mr. Tanner's position as Western branch manager will be taken by MR. C. D. B. FREELAND.
