They were on night-trek in Sussex and had broken down beside a small wood.
In the middle of repairs Bill, the sentimentalist, paused with uplifted spanner " 'Ark at that nightingale ! " he cooed. "Makes yer feel all mushy, don't it?"
" Thirsty, more like," grumbled his math. "Curse the blinkin' bird. First it makes a bubblin' noise, an' then it says 'jug, jug, jug' till me tongue's fair 'engin' out for a beer."
