'HIS YEAR, around 5,000 Perkins three, four end six-cylinder enpines will be remanufactured at the Moteurs Perkins SA plant at 'ienalnville, 60 kilometres north west of Paris.
Set on a 3,600 hectare site in he heart of the French counryside, the Genainville plant Iandles the Power Exchange )rogramme of remanufactured ongines. Moteurs Perkins SA, las been remanufacturing enlines at Genainville since 1962.

The factory, which employs 125 people, has three assembly lines. Two are used for Perkins three, four and six-cylinder engines while the other handles small petrol engines.
In addition to serving the French market with rerrianufactured engines, the Genainville plant also provides a similar service to Perkins customers in Ger
many, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Holland and throughout Scandinavia.
The plant handles remanufactured engines for a wide range of industrial, vehicle and agricultural applications plus four-cylinder 4.108 engines for marine craft.
For Perkins engines users, the power exchange engine scheme Is a remanufacturing process not a reconditioning one. "The difference is significant," says Perkins. "A remanufactured engine has to stand up to the same rigorous testing as a new engine straight off the production line. This includes factory reconditioned fuel injection equipment which is vital for satisfactory operation."
