PUBLIC transport of all forms in the Grampian region has come under scrutiny in a report just submitted by its director of public transportation, John S. Westaby to the Council's Transportation and Roads Committee.
The report concentrates on the need to get value for money out of all services, and to coordinate them efficiently with other methods of transport in order to stabilise the amount of money needed for revenue support. Even school contracts and operators are included in the scope of the report, which assesses whether existing services correspond with public demand.
The report reviews programmes carried out by the region's planning and co-ordination unit and lists changes which shouldbe made to ensure full use of existing resources.
