• Mr. J. M. Fletcher, who was appointed joint receiver of Davis Brothers (Haulage) Ltd. early this year (as reported in CM March 29), told COMMERCIAL MOTOR that since the company had gone into liquidation 300 employees had been made redundant. These men were employed at Davis Brothers depots throughout the country, so there will be no large pool of redundant labour in any one place.
Building of the company's new premises at Warley has ceased, and the Brentwood depot will he auctioned soon.
