Two Cummins cutaway engines will be on display at the Dublin Show. Blackwood Hodge (Ireland) Ltd, the Cummins distributor will have an E290 engine on its stand.
The 14 litre inline, six cylinder engine develops 290bhp gross at 1300rpm. Its maximum torque is a massive 930 lb/ft at 1300rpm. In operator service, the E290 has proved to be extremely. economical. The E290 is offered in 38 ton gew tractor units made by Bedford, ERF, Foden, Ford, Leyland and Seddon Atkinson.
