TROUBLES that may face the tipper operator as a result of Ministry policy were probed at the second convention of the Road Haulage Association's tipping vehicles group at Buxton last weekend.
While not all of the proposed legislation was criticized, alarm was expressed over the possibility of loss of long-haul bulk traffic. Plating and quality licensing were considered as steps towards improving the status of the tipper operator.
The convention was told that the RHA would fight to the last ditch the proposals for giving BR the sole right of objection.
