According to Eaton News, 'the ingenious Americans have recently launched a totally new concept in trucking by producing a vehicle system that places the driver's cab very low down on the chassis, thus allowing the loading space to be extended across the cab roof."
I seem to remember that the ingenious British in Sandbach produced such a chassis for mobile cranes years ago. The main difference is that the Teamster's Union in America has blacked the "brain-child of the Strick Corporation," whereas the Foden operates freely and successfully.
