first of its type in Europe — was opened this week at Fort Dunlop in Birmingham by Dunlop tyres manufacturer S P Tyres UK.
The laboratory is designed to offer maximum security when testing prototype vehicles, and covers 480m2. It is large enough for simultaneous tests to be carried out on any axle of an artic, with axles loadings up to 16 tonnes, and on cars and single tyres.
