• Hauliers starting to have more confidence in the recovery of the market are buying more new trucks and artics and fewer secondhand vehicles on finance.
The growth in secondhand CVs over 3.5 tonnes continued into July to September but is showing only a 14.5% year-onyear increase in finance sales, according to the HPI's Motor Industry Monitor.
The used CV market suffered its first year-on-year drop for more than 12 months for the three months-2.4% fewer used light CVs under 3.5 tonnes were bought on finance.
Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders' figures for October show a 59% year-onyear increase in sales vehicles over 3.5 tonnes over the same period last year; total CV sales rose 15.12% last month compared to October 1993.
