AREVISED draft of the memorandum and articles of association of Road Carriers Association, Ltd., which is the name suggested for the new body to be organized under the
S.J.C. scheme, has been issued. It is shorn of the trading clauses which appeared in the original draft. Even in these days of paper shortage, it runs to 18 sheets of foolscap size.
Although the information in the draft is marked "Personal and Confidential," a résumé has been published elsewhere. We therefore restrict ourselves to saying that it applies only to hauliers under A or B licences and those who, but for the present emergency, would have been entitled to the grant of either or both these licences.
The objects cover all the work that could be expected of an association representative of hauliers, and none of the receipts may be applied other
than towards the promotion of these objects, so that members will derive no financial profit, although remuneration will be given where necessary, to officers or servants of the association.
One object is the maintenance of a traffic bureau, but, as we understand it, this term will indicate the establishment of a kind of pool of information concerning loads.
