• Bold new facia panels with directional signs in white on bright red are the most obvious feature of NBC's remodelling of Victoria Coach Station, London. Within the facias are fluorescent light fittings, digital clocks and loudspeakers for the public address system.
Also well advanced is new overhead cover for passengers at the north end of the station, bays 14 to 22. The new 19,000 sq ft of roofing is in ribbed aluminium with reinforced pvc translucent squares, all carried on steel stanchions and 110ft-span girders.
The roofing-over is costing 00,000, the new facias and associated changes to display panelling (with much use of plastic laminate to deter defacement), and improved waiting room facilities, will cost £60,000.
All the improvements have been initiated by National Travel (NBC) Ltd, the new name for London Coastal Coaches.
