During the year ended July 30, 1932, S. Smith and Sons (MA.), Ltd., made a net profit of /61,647, as compared with 153,282 a year earlier. No dividend is proposed on the deferred ordinary shares, but the preference share dividend is responsible for 137,500, and the fixed 7 per cent, preferred ordinary share dividend takes 114,000, whilst £5,000 is to be written off patents. The amount to be carried forward is £49,476 as against £44,329 brought into the accounts.
