IT was alleged that the applicant had
frequently infringed its licence conditions when Sid Page, Ltd., Gorleston, sought variations relating to fares and picking-up points on its Yarmouth London express service. Opposition was provided by the Eastern Counties Omnibus Co., Ltd., Eclipse Services, and Edward Hillman's Saloon Coaches, Ltd.
Sir Haviland Hiley, the chairman of the Eastern Traffic Commissioners, refused to grant the variation, and intimated that they were to obtain a transcript of the shorthand notes of the case to re-examine the evidence, because they would have to consider whether Mr. Page should be allowed to hold a licence at all. The Commissioner would consider whether any other action was necessary.
