)ECENTLY put into service by Pointers Transport Services, of It Norwich, is the largest Bonallack Pneurnajector tank vehicle 't built. Mounted On a Guy Invincible eight-wheel long-wheelbase Lassis and equipped with Pilot U7 twin-ram tipping gear, the 23 ft. 8 ft. diameter light alloy tank has a capacity of 1,174 cu. ft. id is designed for a payload of 15 tons. The containeris of e single compartment type and is secured to the tipping sub-frame , four bands of steel strapping.
The main problem in tipping containers of such a capacity is
e danger of overbalancing. Bonallack's have successfully overme the the difficulty by providing a blown discharge outlet at each id of the container. In trials, the vehicle discharged a full 15-ton ad through a run extending 20 ft. horizontally, 40 ft. vertically Id a further 20 ft. at an angle of 45° in under 45 minutes. ccently a 15-ton load of flour was discharged to a height of I ft. through a 75-ft. run of 3-in. pipe (4 in. isthe -standard size) 25 minutes.
