RUG ELEY, Staffs-based Geoff Martin Transport is expanding its fleet with vehicles from a range of manufacturers to counter the long lead times in the industry.
The company, which currently has a fleet of 34, has ordered seven trucks to arrive within the next month and a further five to come in March.
Business development manager Paul Hawkins says the company is expanding its business from fragile goods to include automotive parts on behalf of its parent company.
While its existing fleet is mainly Volvo, except for its 7.5-tonners which arc Daf, the new 18 and 44tonne trucks include six Renaults, four I vecos and two Volvos.
Hawkins explains: "We opted for a mixed fleet for the new vehicles because supply is difficult at the moment and we need to get these vehicles fast to expand into the new work."
