time it has proved trouble free afte initial adjustments. The recently fine( rear suspension is basically the same a that used by Birmingham and Midlani Motor Omnibus Co. Ltd., with fou Metalastik circulir rubber/metal units a each side, two in front and two at th, rear, each pair being connected b: toggle-links and set at an angle of 35 to the longitudinal axis of the chassis ti provide as wide a spring base as possible Similar units are used at the front axle but they are located parallel to th chassis centreline.
P.M.T. considers that rubber suspen sion has a great future for public servic vehicles because, they say, it offers sub stantial saving in -maintenance and give improved ride. They plan to convert 36-ft.-long A.E.C. Reliance 590.
