GEODIS CALBERSON has put 13 new double-deck trailers into operation on its European and domestic routes as part of its trailer replacement programme. The 34-strong fleet of doubledecks has been replaced with Krone trailers over a four-year period, helping to reduce transportation costs for delicate pharmaceuticals products and medical equipment.
Geodis Calberson traffic director Ray Cook says: “This is the third set of trailers we’ve had from Krone, and they have had a good reception from clients. A lot of their product is double spec and as it is crushable, normally only 33 pallets can be loaded, but with these trailers you can load 66 pallets safely.”
