Month's suspension
• The licence for two vehicles and two trailers held by Michael Powis, trading as Powis of Lincoln Removals, has been suspended for a month. Powis appeared at a Cambridge disciplinary inquiry because of concern over his maintenance standards.
Conditional grant • Scottish TC Michael Betts has granted a licence for six vehicles and 10 trailers to Cynthia Thomson, of Ladybank, By Cupar, on condition that he is notified if she is required to pay any sum to the liquidators of R Thomson & Sons (Contractors) for assets acquired before it was wound up.
No recovery The High Court has ruled that a van adapted as a mobile workshop does not fall within the definition of a "recovery vehicle". It quashed a decision of Worcester Crown Court allowing an appeal against a conviction for the unauthorised use of a vehicle against Gloucestershire-based Richard Read Transport.
