THE MANAGEMENT of B and R Transport is being charged with endangering the welfare of the general public, after the explosion at its Salford depot in Greater Manchester last September (CM, October 2).
It faces a fine of up to £1,000, as the charges allege breach of Section 31 of the Health and Safety at Work Act. There is no imprisonment for such an offence.
A preliminary hearing was held at the Salford Magistrates Court on February 11 and adjourned until February 25.
The charges are being brought by the Health and Safety Executive and the Petroleum Licensing Authority of Greater Manchester Council.
