HOPWELLS HAS added a dozen 12-tonne Isuzu Forward trucks to its existing 100-vehicle mixed fleet, which already includes a number of existing 7.5-tonne Isuzus.
The Euro-4 Forward F120.240 rigids are the first production models to enter the UK, and they will be replacing outgoing MAN TGM 12.225s and Iveco 130s, which have come to the end of their five-year operating life.
From the six nationally located depots, the refrigerated trucks will transport Hopwells' full range of frozen foods to its customers. David Williams, Hopwells' fleet manager, says: "On average, the trucks will have between 25 and 30 drops per day, and they are expected to cover in excess of 100.000 miles a year."
• See page 34 for our productivity test, where we compare Isuzus al 7.5, 12 and 18 tonnes.
