Recently I had a mishap when a crane struck my lorry on site, smashing the window and top of the cab.
In view of the fact that this vehicle was most urgently needed on the road, I contacted the PPM. Co., Lynwick, Rudgwick, Horsham, Sussex (with whom I have no connection) and, although there were, to my knowledge, no temporary windows made for commercial vehicles, on giving them the measurements. they immediately set to work and produced one for me. Not only did they produce a temporary window, but they delivered it to me, and fitted it for me, the next day at extremely low cost: thus keeping the vehicle on the road for a further three weeks until spares were available to complete the repair.
My reason for writing is that efforts of this kind, in these days, should be acknowledged, in view of the fact that good quality and service is so rare today — indeed, one might almost say, practically non-existent.
