For the first time in the UK, a new concept in external rear vision mirrors adjustable electric-, ally from the inside of a vehicle, were shown by Lukey Mufflers Ltd, of Victoria, at the Australian Trade Display at Bloomsbury recently.
The Lukey rear vision mirror is designed for door to wing mounting on either side of the vehicle. It is supplied with antiglare glass or standard glass, as requested, and has been designed to fit most makes of vehicle. When fitted it is thiefproof and entirely maintenancefree. Simple instructions and wiring diagrams are supplied with the mirrors, which are now available from stock.
Adjustment of the angle of the mirror is made by a four way, step-type button which is mounted on the dashboard and wired to the vehicle's electrical system. A driver can obtain optimum rear vision adjustment from the driving seat and, at night time, glare and dazzle from overtaking vehicles can be eliminated—both features being strong safety factors as well as being convenient.
The mirror, model No. LM.1001 is for 12V DC operation. Patents are held by Lukey Mufflers Ltd, in Canada, USA, France, Germany, Italy, Japan as well as Great Britain and Australia.
