MI A Spanish truck driver who skipped bail and fled the UK has been tracked down and is awaiting extradition—three years after an accident that left a postman dead.
Jesus Martinez-Cuetos was involved in a crash on the A4081 near tlandridnod Wells, Powys in September 1997. His truck was in collision with a post van, killing driver Adrian Dixon from Howes/. An inquest held last year recorded a verdict of unlawful killing.
The inquest was told by acci
dent investigators that the Spaniard's lorry had been on the wrong side of the road, despite claims by Diets to the police that it had been the other way round.
Extradition proceedings are now under way to bring back Cuetos to Britain to face a charge of causing death by dangerous driving.
After skipping bail in the UK Cuetos is believed to have spent some time in South America, but he has been tracked down to Spain,
