• At Whitehaven magistrates' court last week William Donnan and Son, fish merchant, of Whitehayen, was fined a total of £540 with 10 guineas costs for 27 offences of failing to cause current records to be kept and permitting drivers to exceed the permitted maximum working hours.
Six drivers were fined a total of £270, with two guineas costs each, for failing to keep current records and working more than the permitted maximum hours.
