• Improvements incorporated in the latest design of single-axle machinery carrier made by Hands Trailers Ltd. include a vertical drop leading to the well deck in place of the slope on earlier models. The neck of the semi-trailer has also been lengthened to allow coupling to all makes of tractive unit plated for 24 tons gross combination weight and three-line air-operated S-cam brakes are fitted as standard to give better braking and more consistent life than the previous wedge brakes.
Hands machinery carriers are available in two sizes-16 and 18 tons plated gross trailer weight—and each is offered with a choice of four standard well lengths of 16ft, 18ft, 20ft and 22ft. The semi-trailers have a detachable "knock outsingle axle which can be removed completely with wheels and springs to enable equipment to be driven on to the deck from the rear.
