NEW P.S.V. REGULATIONS.
TEE Minister of Transport has now made the Public Service Vehicles (Licences and Certificates) Regulations, 1933, to come into operation to-day (December 1), and replacing the Public Service Vehicles (Licences and 'Certificates) (No. 3) Provisional Regulations, 1931, and subsequent amendment regulations.
In substance, the new regulations follow the lines of the draft dealt with in our issue dated Septeinber 29, but a number of alterations, mainly of .a 346 minor character, has been made. Copies of the regulations will shortly be obtainable from ELM. Stationery Office.
ALL BUSES FOR WALLASEY.
AS from to-day (Friday), Wallasey
Corporation's passenger-transport undertaking will be worked solely by buses, the lost of the tramways having closed down last night. The trains were first introduced in 1879. In March, last year, the municipal fleet of buses numbered 69, the vehicles being, of Leyland, Daimler and A.E.C. makes.
TROLLEYBUSES FOR GLASGOW?
THE section of the new Provisional Order, to be promoted in Parliament, seeking powers to operate trolleybuses on four routes on the outskirts of the city, has been approved by the Glasgow Corporation.
Councillor Dollen stated that 30 towns in England had introduced trolleybuses, and that their operating cost was 2d. or 3d. per mile less than that of the tram. The Glasgow 'tram system is, he said, to be continued for many years to come.
